Renewable Energy
CHP
We are particularly strong in diesel engine based Combined Heat & Power (CHP) where we are able to supply turnkey power plants in the size range 50 kW to 10 MW. We keep costs down by using outsourced engineering partners for the genset build while we provide the technology and expertise to oversee a successful project from design, through build to warranty and maintenance contracts.
Suitable fuels include:
- Gas Oil
- Biodiesel
- Pure Plant Oils
- Biomex Generator Fuel (ask for details)
Biomass heating
We offer bespoke biomass heating systems for hot water or space heating. These are generally based on biomass pellets (wood, straw, energy grass) although we can also work with wood chip. We can supply just the boiler, or we can supply a complete modular containerised system, in a box, ready to ‘plug & play’. Our partners from Scandinavia and the Baltics have wide experience with thousands of boilers in operation over many years, so we are sure about the quality and reliability of the systems we provide. In addition, we work closely with biomass fuel specialists and flue specialists, to provide a full system.
Straw pellets: the largest volume of biomass produced in the UK is wheat straw, but this fuel is notoriously difficult to combust cleanly and efficiently in a wood pellet boiler. We believe our supplier is the only one in Europe who can offer a true multi-fuel boiler that will burn straw pellets or wood pellets equally well, as they have been doing it for 30 years. Energy grasses
We are investigating opportunities for solid biomass production in Eastern Europe, especially Reed Canary Grass (Phalaris arundinacea). We are seeking contract growers for potential joint investment in this energy crop of the future. This crop has low start-up costs and can be cultivated using normal agronomy practices, like any other grass. There is potential for a buy-back contract system, giving growers a steady and predictable income in hard currency (Euro, Sterling etc). Contact us for more information.
